Freedom of Speech vs. Hate Speech

This is for lerwegian and those who think like him about Freedom of Speech.

Source: Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_speech

Freedom of Speech is the concept of the inherent human right to voice one’s opinion publicly without fear of censorship or punishment. The right is enshrined in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and is granted formal recognition by the laws of most nations. Nonetheless the degree to which the right is upheld in practice varies greatly from one nation to another. In some nations with relatively authoritarian forms of government, overt government censorship is enforced, while among liberal democracies, censorship has been claimed to occur in a different form (propaganda model) and there are different approaches to issues such as hate speech, obscenity, and defamation laws.

Hate Speech is a controversial term for speech intended to degrade, intimidate, or incite violence or prejudicial action against a person or group of people based on their race, gender, age, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, language ability, moral or political views, socioeconomic class, occupation and appearance (such as height and weight). The term covers written as well as oral communication and some forms of behaviors in a public setting. It is also sometimes called antilocution and is the first point on Allport’s scale which measures prejudice in a society.

So please lerwegian, read your stuff again and think very hard if what you wrote qualifies for Freedom of Speech as you were claiming. In my opinion you have distributed class A Hate Speech.

Another for you:

sometimes in this life, told the truth must be
of all the bad times, set those secrets free
show them who is at loss, the power of the word
shout it out at them, make sure the whole world heard
make them feel the shame, of evil they have done
have faith in yourself, your not the only one
let them feel the pain, and sadness you went through
make them understand, the wrong they did to you
freedom is a gift, not something to abuse
something to protect, something not to lose
there is no excuse, no reason they can state
what they did is wrong, no reason for this hate.

Black Tuesday

Hi Andy,

That is your name, isn’t it? Or should I continue to address you as lerwegian?

I am getting  itchy because I don’t hear from you. Your blogroll seems to have disappeared from the internet, which is a good sign.  Or did you just have a fun day?

You could call it ‘Black Tuesday’, wouldn’t that fit well? I am rather concerned that you locked up your Mac and don’t read my blogs anymore… because I was hoping that I would get a chance to ask you to apologise publicly to those who you humiliated, insulted and made very, very bad fun of.

You know what I think? It would be a good thing to make peace and spend some time thinking about what you have done and how you hurt people in your own community.

You should know that I am ready and well prepared for the finals with you.

Firstly, I copied some of your most insulting blogs, so even if you dumped your blogroll, there is enough live ammunition.

Furthermore I have collected evidence which links you directly with these sad publications. This enables me to print collages with your name, address and picture on it and send them to your working colleagues, friends, neighbours, your favourite restaurants and, of course, I could imagine sending a number of soft copies to various blogs and websites. I love making collages… you’re actually not a bad looking guy, shame your head is so screwed up…

Oh, and let’s not forget the supermarket. The cashier who you humiliated so bravely will surely be interested to post it on the notice board…

Please let me know how you get on. I still have to decide if I take this further or if we leave it there. Perhaps you could use your urge for publishing in a positive way? If you want you may leave a comment on this blog.

Greetings,  Jane

Lerwegian’s Identity

Filed under: annoyances, Humour, Lerwegian, Lerwick, Orkney, Shetland, Sick Humour, Travel — truetalk @ 9:50 am

The truth about lerwegian…..   well, well, well. The truth is, that we have discovered the real identity, including full name, home address, birth date, picture, work place, job, friends, history and so on. Actually, it wasn’t that difficult. Frightening, isn’t it?

I know that you are now one of my most loyal readers, therefore I kindly ask you right here and now to delete all offensive posts you managed to publish or, better still, delete this entire blogroll. As I don’t believe in threats, I am not telling you what I shall do if you don’t comply, but I can tell you for sure that you will not like it.

Greetings, Jane

Morning Glory

Now isn’t that strange. Just as I am getting some response, Mr lerwegian decides to keep his disgusting posts private and I cannot access them anymore. Is there anyone out there who manages to log into this site? ‘lerwegian.wordpress.com’

Surely better for those of us who are not used to the stench of stale, macho-flavoured remarks of a want-to-be author. However, I was just warming up to the thought of adding my daily comments after recovering from the nausea caused by the lerwegian blog.

No worries though, the party is not over yet.

Lerwegian Blocks Out

Filed under: Humour, Lerwegian, Lerwick, Orkney, Shetland, Sick Humour, Travel — truetalk @ 12:38 pm

It didn’t take much. In less than 48 hrs the creep behind the ‘lerwegian’ pseudonym blocked my comments at his pathetic blogroll. That isn’t much of an efforrt, any mackerel would do better than that. Anyway, the point is that he actually managed to produce a non-offensive contribution, so we have got somewhere.

But don’t get the impression that this is the end, you got a lot more coming at you…

Free Lunch

Filed under: Lerwegian, Lerwick, Shetland, Sick Humour — truetalk @ 6:53 pm

There are actually individuals in this world who still believe in a free lunch. One of them calls himself “lerwegian”, a pseudonym of a sad figure residing in Shetland.

That there is no such thing as a free luncheon, most of us learn as a child, those with an IQ lower than there age learn it a bit later in life and some never get it. Lerwegian is one of those who never will. One just has to read his primitive posts to know.

Try Free Lunch, it makes you wonder what blogging is really about…

Sick Mind Hiding Behind Internet Anonymity

Filed under: annoyances, Humour, Lerwegian, Lerwick, Shetland — truetalk @ 9:31 am

Lerwegian is the pseudonym this obvious sick person is hiding behind, so he can broadcast his ‘humor’ and ‘dreams’ about sticking sharp objects up the rectum of an obese lady. If you have the stomach, you can read this at ‘Prod a Fatty’, posted by Lerwegian on February 15th.

Would that be because that lady has done something bad to him? No, this was posted merely because she is obese. So whoever Lerwegian is, he obviously found a way to express his primitive views and make comments about his ex-colleagues and ex-employer who was apparently shagging all his staff, even the female? Well, something must have gone the wrong way there my dear.

This leaves me with the question of why people like you come to Shetland? It is obvious that you don’t belong here. Citizens of Shetland respect the people they live with, regardless of what they look like or how much they weigh.

And: What’s next, Lerwegian? Maybe a sick joke about your handicapped neighbour?
